Check out this cool and simple hi-def indie trailer:
It’s a 940×580 60-second animated Flash 9 movie of high-res stills with the “Ken Burns effect” to make a string of very fluid pans over evocative music-box like soundtrack (with haunting sound of footsteps, as metronome). What’s cool about this? An indie filmmaker can make a elegant and professional-looking trailer with low-band width that can be hosted on a low (or no) cost hosting solution (e.g., Yahoo, GoDaddy, some free blog sites). Remember to take many excellent high res stills on set (for this and many other reasons)!
This Japanese movie, “Sakugoe,” just won Best Foreign Language Film at the “Gone With The Film Festival”. おめでとう!「サクゴエ」のフラッシュートレーラーはいいアイディア、インディー映画のために。じゃない?
Music for the film is by my indie film’s lead actress’s talented husband, Nagacho–a well-known musician in Japan (click on the “Music” link in the Flash). You can track the progress of this movie from the Sakugoe blog (Japanese only).
