I haven’t used Unity or any Avid product–and guess they might be superior for serious feature editing. However, I certainly don’t see why an Avid fan (such as yourself) would be rooting for FCP to leave the market–giving Avid less pressure to improve and make it’s apps more modern. But it still is unnerving, to us small independent editors about to sink a lot of money into one system--not to know "which way the wind is blowing".
