Isn’t this a bit like a jumbo shrimp?
Phil Wainwright of ZDNet has a post on a Software as a Service (SaaS) who has decided to abandon the browser and deliver their product through… software (albeit of the thin client variety). Now admittedly their software may just be a charged up browser. But the whole point of SaaS is that we don’t want dozens of different software applications installed on our local pcs.
The vendor is Entellium and the product is CRM. Their thin client (they call it a “smart client”) is called Rave.
So maybe they need to call their product:
- SaaSaS (Software as a Service as Software), or
- SaNaS (Software as Not a Service), or
- OFSLIUTB (Old Fashioned Software Like It Used To Be)
