My Red was out last week shooting up-and-coming New Zealand hip-hop artist Maitreya‘s new music video, “Lotaluv”. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make the shoot (DPed by Roman Baska of Salon Films and directed and produced by Digger T Mesch and his Dig Deep Entertainment). But looks like they did some great work, with my Red on a Scorpio head. Check out the excellent photos by Jennifer Thym (who snapped the one above) on her blog Manimanimas and Victor Peña, who was director of post-production.
I also was one of 5 cameramen on the “Chur to the Chur” Maitreya music video shoot Saturday night, at Club Cixi (using my trusty little HDR-FX1, instead of my big Red). Great concert! Maitreya has great authentic hip hop songs (song partly in Maori), a great stage presence and is an all around nice guy. Here’s a pic I snapped through the copious amounts of smoke on my new iPhone of Maitreya and Gretchell Yaneza (who’s also an up and coming talent, with a great Alicia Keys-esque voice):
