Ok, so my RSS reader is Pageflakes, an online “webtop” RSS reader. I’ve come to like the the way Pageflakes has all my RSS feeds (with graphics) physically laid out in tabbed pages. Until two days ago. When Pageflakes just died. Without any notification. Gives putting your valuable data (in this case several hundred URLs of blogs I read) online. Shame on Pageflakes. This kind of behavior does not help 37signals et al convince us to put our valuable personal and corporate data online…
It’s likely to be connected to the recession. With millions getting laid off and credit tight, who can fault a free service for going dark for a few days? SLA, what’s that? “Service Level Appendicitis”? “Startup Leaking Air”? “Sounds Like Apocolypse”? “Sillicon valley Looks to Atrophy“? “Silly Little Apps”? “So, Loser About your data…”? “Savings Liposuction Alchemy”?
OK, I’ll stop with the bad punning. But not before saying, I told you so…
