Are You Sure Sharepoint is Really Effective? Read This First!

Let me ask you some questions first. In your opinion, do you know about Sharepoint? Well, for some people business is something that plays an important role in their life. Or it can be said that without business it means nothing. That is why there are so many people that assume that business is everything to them. What do you think about that? Have you heard about Sharepoint that is launched by Microsoft Office? And do you know about Campfire?

Campfire is the chat tool that enables you to send more than 60,000,000 chat messages to all clients in business. By using Campfire you are free to set up your password and invite some people that you like. Of course it is better from IM that allows you to do only one-on-one chats. Campfire lets you to make conversation with some teams or groups. But, it is not effective for business because it has security password, especially if it is used by your workers.

How about Sharepoint? Actually this platform is a platform that is usually used in business that has function to share all information about business or project to all team. It is not a big thing anymore that most business owners feel worry about how to share their information easily. And the most important thing it does not need to use password! It can be seen that Sharepoint is really effective to be applied in business or organization, but I can say that it is kind of “rubbish”. Do you want to know why? There are so many reasons why I can say that Sharepoint is not really awesome business kit. Even some people will say “I’m wasting my time and money for using this kit!” There are so many criticisms or weaknesses that have been exploded about Sharepoint, such as:

1. It does not have digital asset management and records management
2. The wiki piece is not working as you have expected. It is a little bit lower. Although there are some rumors that the next version will be better.
3. You need to spend a lot of money to do customization that is why many people say it is “rubbish”
4. Content management. If you think it has great content, you are really wrong. Sharepoint has standard content management.
5. It has very simple analytics. There are so many businesses who complain about this case.
6. SAP and WSRP is not really strong although it works well.

Maybe some of you will say “Wow, I can’t believe that Sharepoint has so many weaknesses”, but it is the fact that you have to know about this platform. Now, it is your decision whether you will use Sharepoint or not in the organization.
